When Your Lord Said To The Angels, "Ä°NNÄ° CAÄ°LÜN..."

Most of us desire ardently to be angels. We dream of a wife like an angel and we wish our children to be like ones. This is an unachievable desire, which is misjudged and misleading, and also its contrary to God's wishes. Do we have to object to God's judgement as He created us as human beings? Do we have to object to His creation? Do we have to contempt the role of Caliph on the earth as Allah honoured us and go down to a different level? Do we have to desire the position of angels that are ordered to prostrate themselves before Adam? Do we have to desire the position of angels that are ordered to follow and serve us?
Of course the angel has a higher quality as far as the obedience to God's wishes is concerned. The angel has no fault like Satan who dislikes God's discretion and goes against His wishes. It has no evil and vindictive intentions to mislead human. It does not turn away from the truth and does not show arrogance like Satan does. It has no ingratitude and impiety towards God. It is the symbol of obedience to God unreservedly. When God orders it to prostrate itself before anything, it does so without objection.
The angel is no fool as Satan is. It knows its state and position. When it is ordered it will be come radio waves and carry news to radios and televisions, It serves humans in the shape of the law of thermodynamics and gravity. It becomes Cibril and carries the message from God to the most honourable of mankind. It becomes the angel of death and enables man to pass through this life to the next. But its mission is never a satanic intention to mislead man. Its mission is in the direction of God's order to serve Adam (to prostrate itself before him). In spite of all its higher qualities the angel is not been called "Caliph". Because it has no will of its own, it has no knowledge and disposition. It does not have the knowledge of reality of matters. It is not been taught the names of things and the true nature of events. It has no power for choice and preference. It has no ability of discovery and invention. It is not been given the ability to use initiative. When it gets the answer to its question it gives in; it does not object. It is not accountable to God. Its duty is to carry others accounts. It does not fall in love, it does not hate. One can say that this is perfection in goodness. But they are unaware about the things they are not given, like computers. Allah created them in that way.
Therefore, they are not gratified as 'Caliph'. Allah granted only human being the ability of leadership and ruling on the earth. Because its the human being who has the ability to love and hate, to seek revenge, to chose a direction, to think and desire, to penetrate the nature of matters. This capacity of knowing the nature of matters is very important. This knowledge is the gate for goodness and evil. The angels asked Allah who was about to place human being as his deputy on the earth by pointing out the ability of man to do badness: "Will you put there one that will do evil and shed blood, when we have for so long sung Your praises and sanctified Your name?" Allah said to them:" 'I know what you do not know." And the verses in the Koran follows: "He taught Adam the names of all things and then set them before the angels saying:' Tell me the names of these, if what you say be true. Glory to you, they replied,' we have no knowledge except that which you have given us. You alone are wise and all-knowing."
What it means is that because of knowledge that human possesses, Allah given them higher status. And He says to Adam: " Tell them their names" when Adam told their names, Allah said the angels: 'Did I not tell you that I know the secrets of heaven and earth, and all that you hide and all that you reveal?" This is the reason that the human being raised the position of deputy to Allah on the earth; He has the ability to learn the nature of matters, to create and control events to a certain degree, loving and understanding, to make plans and use initiative. Therefore, the people who say: ' I do not know but my sheikh knows' are murdering human beings. There are nine verses in the Koran that contains the word "Caliph"; two of them are singular and seven plurals. I think all of these verses point out that as if human being has a universal mission. This mission is purely independent of race, individuals, positions or status. Because of this mission Allah places the human higher then the angel. He becomes a candidate for success and the deputy to God on earth. Therefore, the Buddhists, the mystics, the Christians who inspire people in the name of purity to destroy their human qualities are a deception and it is wrong. One of Islam's great thinkers says," there is no meaning of a blind person looking at something forbidden (haram) but, the person who is able to see but avoids something forbidden is the one who gets credit. Therefore, it should be seen as unacceptable when the people who leave their worldly belongings move to the mountains to eat grass and drink rain water like animals in the name of spiritual purification, angelisation and inspiration to be saints. As indicated in the Koran, the human being with his qualities is placed above the angel and the angel is ordered to serve him. After the dialogue which is stated above Allah turned to the angels and ordered:" prostrate yourselves". The angels did but Satan did not. It became arrogant towards Allah. Because it was conditioned by its mistakes, because it was unbeliever. bkz.: Bakara/ 30-34: "...When your Lord said to the angels: 'I am placing on the earth one that should rule as My deputy', they replied: 'Will you put there one that will do evil and shed blood, when we have for so long sung Your praises and sanctified Your name?' He said: 'I know what you do not know." "He taught Adam the names of all things and then set them before the angels saying:' Tell me the names of these, f what you say be true." "Glory to you, hey replied,' we have no knowledge except that which you are given us. You alone are wise and all-knowing." "Then He said to Adam: ' Tell them their names.' And when Adam had named them, He said: 'Did I not tell you that I know the secrets of heaven and earth, and all that you hide and all that you reveal?" "And when We said to the angels:' Prostrate yourselves before Adam,' they all prostrated themselves except Satan, who in his pride refused and became an unbeliever."
